Located on the western edge of Southeast Asia, Myanmar stretches
from the warm, island studded waters of the Andaman sea in the south to the deeply
remote, forested foothills of the Himalayas in the north. The country has an
old world charm that fills ones imagination with wonder and offers a timeless
glimpse into a more traditional way of life.
Today, the industry in Myanmar is a mix of small
holders and larger farms and estates. Innovative growers (including Q-graders) are
moving the needle by introducing varieties known for their high cup quality as
well as processing coffees using Natural, Honey and washed techniques. The
future of specialty coffee in Myanmar is definitely bright and we are honoured
to play our small part in its success.
