A BIT ABOUT THIS COFFEE
Coffee comes to us across the seas so it’s no surprise that as the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia, Laos isn’t a well known coffee origin. We've spent years pursuing a relationship in Laos through which we could confidently source great tasting organic coffee while meeting our strict Green Bean Buying Principles. And now our dreams have come true. We've conquered untold shipping and logistical woes (only made worse by Covid) to bring you the Laos Good Drop; a 100% traceable, sustainable and ethical coffee!
This is a limited release coffee with only enough left for 500 people to enjoy, so get in quick! Genuine coffee lovers will truly be delighted with this exceptional, super rare and tasty bean from a brand new origin.

WHY YOU WILL LOVE THIS COFFEE
What do you do when you don't have access to clean water to drink let alone wash (process) your coffee? Dry Natural! There is so much that can go wrong with dry natural processed coffees, but out of necessity, our farming partners in Laos have used their ingenuity and dedication to produce one of the tastiest naturals we've ever tried!
Expect a textured syrupy body with rich, sugary sweetness and delicious dark fruit, malt and choc biscuit flavours.

LET'S MAKE GOOD HAPPEN
As genuine coffee traders who exclusively build relationships in Southeast Asia, we've been dreaming of bringing Laos coffee to Australia for years! This year our dream has come true with a relationship with a farmer coop who is seriously producing some of the most exceptional coffees we’ve ever tried. And because we’re all about brightening the lives of our amazing farmers as well as our customers, every kilo of coffee sold will go towards helping to build a much needed water well for our farming partners and their community.
Day to day our Laos farming partners don't have access to clean drinking water. The children in the village miss school to collect water and disease and infection from unsafe water is commonplace.
That’s where we come in. At Old Quarter, we believe that coffee has the special potential to make the world a happier, better place. And as a coffee community, we have the power to positively impact the lives of the people who grow our coffee just as they positively impact ours through the coffee they produce!
It seems like a fair value exchange; GREAT coffee for GREAT safe water. When we reach our goal to sell 1000 kilos of Laos coffee, we’ll build a water well to provide clean drinking water and change the lives of our farming partners and their entire village for good. Forever...
Now that's a Good Drop!

Old Quarter Size Guide
Not sure how much coffee to purchase? The information below is a guide to how much coffee you will need to last you two weeks, based on the number of cups you, or your household, drink each day.
- 250g Bag: 1-2 cups per day
- 500g Bag: 2-3 cups per day
- 1kg Bag: 4-5 cups per day
Remember that espresso style extractions use a bit more coffee than filter...you'll need to take half a cup or so off the estimations above. E.g. you'll get about 1.5 cups per day if you order the 250g bag for a fortnight.
