THE STORY
Deep in the pristine rainforests of Northern Thailand lies Doi Saket—the country’s oldest coffee-growing region, nestled in Chiang Mai province.
It was here, in the 1970s, that Arabica trees were first introduced as part of the late Thai King’s opium replacement program. Unlike other regions, where high-yield cultivars are planted in dense rows under full sun, many of Doi Saket’s original heirloom varieties—including Typica and Bourbon—continue to thrive, with some trees now over 30 years old.
Nui Intakad and Aoy Jaisooksern are a young couple who, nearly a decade ago, left their city careers behind to return to Nui’s family farm in Doi Saket.
With Nui’s background in engineering and Aoy’s in accounting, they brought their skills and passion to the farm, focusing on producing some of Thailand’s finest coffee.
Their farm sits beneath a lush canopy of primary rainforest trees in a pristine mountain ecosystem—conditions that are perfect for cultivating older varieties like Typica.
This small lot—processed using the black honey method—showcases dark sugar tones and a clean yet viscous mouthfeel.
This is Thai specialty coffee at its best: authentic, thoughtful, and deeply connected to both people and place.
We’re proud to be the only Australian company importing their exceptional coffees.
A unique aspect of Thailand’s coffee industry is its strong internal market. Unlike many producing countries, Thailand boasts a vibrant specialty scene located just hours from the farms.
This proximity fosters deep collaboration between growers, roasters, and baristas, driving continuous innovation and quality improvement.
Thai coffee remains a rarity on the global stage, with less than 5% of the annual crop exported.
Since 2020, we’ve proudly showcased select Thai microlots in Australia, offering a rare taste of one of the world’s most exciting and dynamic coffee origins.
