A BIT ABOUT THIS COFFEE

This coffee is grown by smallholder ethnic minority farmers across a hand-full of villages. Each family has approximately 1-3 acres and interplants their coffee gardens with shade trees and other food crops. They produce their coffee using organic techniques and the flavour is very unique to Myanmar.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT

An exceptionally well-balanced coffee, not too mellow, not too strong, it sits right in the middle.

Classic caramel & biscuit flavours are met with a pleasant citrus and honey sweetness that is unique to this part of Myanmar.  Add milk and its agreeably mellow with a pleasant bright sweetness.

HOW TO BREW

We love it as: Plunger

Also great as: Espresso, AeroPress, Stovetop

THE STORY

Small rural villages with big potential! We began buying coffee from these guys in 2018. It was our third origin and buying relationship. Their growers belong to the Pa’O ethnic minority group. They have have been mentored in agronomy from Winrock International (NGO) and have ongoing support from local agriculture and coffee Q grader experts. These farmers are doing a spectacular job and we're so stoked to share their unique coffee.

In Myanmar, though coffee has been grown on a small scale for a long time, cultivation generally commenced in the 1980s with the government’s opium eradication program. The coffee quality from Myanmar is improving every year. In a part of the world that often faces political and social challenges, we are grateful to be able to buy their coffee and share it with you.

I've enjoyed the Baristas Choice Coffee Subscription in Melbourne during 2021 - OQCM's coffee is first rate, the variety is interesting & unique, the business model; inspiring. Subscription service was above & beyond - Amelia went out of her way to provide excellent, friendly customer service. 10/10 would recommend!” Tiffany Smith - Google
”I've been buying this coffee for 2 years now and it's honestly the best coffee I've had so far. The Vietnam K'Ho is definitely my fave but all their coffees are bloody delicious. I was a little late placing my orders sometimes so now I order through their subscription service which is super convenient, plus saves me paying for shipping! 10/10 recommend to anyone who loves coffee.” Beatrice Eichler - Google
OMG if you haven’t tried this coffee yet you need too. How refreshing is it to drink coffee that hasn’t been over roasted and you can taste all the individual flavours of each bean? I’m hooked. Knowing it’s ethically sourced makes it taste even better.
