TRY THIS BUNDLE OF 1 x HARIO COLD BREW POT + 2 x 250G BAGS OF OUR MOST POPULAR COFFEES FOR COLD BREW.
A BIT ABOUT THIS BUNDLE
This cold brew bundle includes the coffees we love to use ourselves when brewing up cold brew! There's no denying that for the summery months of the year, a good cold brew becomes our coffee-obsessed teams drink of choice (after about 3 espresso's!). The coffees we've included each offer something unique but both offer super tasty flavour profiles and a nice caffeine-kick.
Plus with two of our core range coffees included you will be tasting some of Southeast Asia's finest coffees, available nowhere else in Australia.
This bundle is perfect for any cold brew lover!
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
You will get to try two distinctly different single origins side by side and create some seriously tasty home made coffee! Cold brew coffee is known for being smooth and sweet when compared to hot brewed coffee. When you brew coffee cold not as many acids and tannins are extracted so your cup of Daily Happy ends up with a lower acidity and less bitterness. Read, "smooth baby smooth". The Sumatra Gayo Bies and Thailand Akha will ensure your cold brew is up there with the best of them!
Hario Cold Brew Pot - This is our go-to piece of kit for brewing cold brew when at home!
With the Hario Mizudashi Cold Brew Pot you can easily create 1L of cold brew at a time and store it in the fridge for a good two weeks (if it lasts that long!). As with all home brewing, we recommend to play around with a few different recipes to find the perfect brew for you! Have you tried cold brew espresso martinis??
Thailand Akha - Notes of Toffee, Milk Tea and Lime. This is something unique, something for everyone! Medium in body & strength, this coffee offers a balanced and unique character that you pretty much can’t not love.
This coffee is grown by young Akha farmers in the fertile hills around Doi Pangkhon, Chiang Rai. With small-scale (each household producing 1-2 tonne of parchment per harvest), sustainable farming practices and specialty processing techniques, all of the conditions for specialty coffee production here are ideal. This is a very approachable and crowd-pleasing example of the region's coffee offering.
Sumatra Gayo - Bies - Notes of Vanilla, Milk Chocolate, Cinnamon, Blackberry. This coffee is rich and complex. It's perfect for lovers of a stronger, more full bodied coffee.
The Sumatra Bies is one of our most popular coffees. It's been on the menu since 2017 and is widely loved; not just for the flavour but because of the inspiring farmers who grow it. We source this from an all female led co-op in the Gayo Highlands. This is inspiration in a cup...literally, it helps you start your day!
HOW TO BREW
These coffees are both a medium roast. Brewed as a cold brew, they are delicious either with added milk or without.
A basic recipe to use in a Hario Cold Brew Pot is as simple as this:
- Grind 80g of Old Quarter coffee on an extra-course setting. If you drink with milk and love a strong brew you could do like we do and use 100g.
- Pour 1 litre of cold, clean (filtered if you've got it!) water onto the coffee
- Brew in the fridge for between 12hrs - 24hrs. You can also brew warm on the counter. Bare in mind that your coffee will extract slower in the fridge.
- Once it's finished steeping, remove the filter and you can either store in the fridge in the pot or transfer it to another bottle so you can get another brew on the go!
- You can use it as a concentrate and simply add water or ice. Or add your choice of milk.
Old Quarter Size Guide
Not sure how much coffee to purchase? The information below is a guide to how much coffee you will need to last you two weeks, based on the number of cups you, or your household, drink each day.
- 250g Bag: 1-2 cups per day
- 500g Bag: 2-3 cups per day
- 1kg Bag: 4-5 cups per day
Remember that espresso style extractions use a bit more coffee than filter...you'll need to take half a cup or so off the estimations above. E.g. you'll get about 1.5 cups per day if you order the 250g bag for a fortnight.

Is that the time?
I've enjoyed the Baristas Choice Coffee Subscription in Melbourne during 2021 - OQCM's coffee is first rate, the variety is interesting & unique, the business model; inspiring. Subscription service was above & beyond - Amelia went out of her way to provide excellent, friendly customer service. 10/10 would recommend!” Tiffany Smith - Google
”I've been buying this coffee for 2 years now and it's honestly the best coffee I've had so far. The Vietnam K'Ho is definitely my fave but all their coffees are bloody delicious. I was a little late placing my orders sometimes so now I order through their subscription service which is super convenient, plus saves me paying for shipping! 10/10 recommend to anyone who loves coffee.” Beatrice Eichler - Google
OMG if you haven’t tried this coffee yet you need too. How refreshing is it to drink coffee that hasn’t been over roasted and you can taste all the individual flavours of each bean? I’m hooked. Knowing it’s ethically sourced makes it taste even better.
